Services

Eight service lines, run as one practice.

Build and run are the same discipline. Splitting them across vendors is how environments end up undocumented, so we work across both.

What we do

A technology consultancy, defined narrowly.

Fincham Systems is a technology consultancy that designs, secures and operates Microsoft 365 and Azure environments for organizations of roughly 25 to 500 staff.

Every engagement produces documentation as a deliverable: a configuration baseline, an architecture decision record, and runbooks your own team can execute. That is the part most buyers discover they were missing, usually at the worst moment: during an audit, an acquisition, or the week after someone resigned.

The eight lines below are grouped by what they do to your estate. Most engagements combine two or three; the pairings that come up most often are linked from each page.

Build

Design, build and ship. Cloud foundations, pipelines, applications and automation.

Project or retained

DevOps & CI/CD

Deployments that are boring on purpose.

Software Development

Software your team can still maintain in a year.

Run and secure

Operate, harden and govern. Managed estates, security posture and audit readiness.

Engagement models

Four ways to work with us.

Which model applies is agreed before anything is quoted, so the commercial shape of the work is never a surprise.

Comparison of Fincham Systems engagement models, their cadence and the services each covers
ModelCadencePricingHow it worksTypical services
Managed serviceMonthlyFixed monthly feeWe take ownership of an environment and hold it to a documented baseline. Defined scope, monthly reporting, no hourly billing.
  • Microsoft 365 Management
Fixed-scope projectDefined start and endFixed price, quoted after discoveryA bounded piece of work with agreed deliverables and a price fixed before it starts. You carry no risk on the estimate. Any service line can be run this way, not only the ones that default to it.
  • Any of the service lines
Retained advisoryMonthly 8, 16 or 32 hours 3-month minimumQuoted by tierA committed block of senior hours each month at a tier agreed up front. Every tier includes a monthly review call, a maintained risk register, and a reply within one business day. The hours can go to build work as readily as advisory, including ongoing software development. Hours are allocated monthly and do not roll over: whatever is unused at the end of a month expires, so the tier is worth setting at what you will genuinely use rather than the most you might.
  • InfoSec Consulting
  • Compliance & Audit Readiness
  • Software Development
HourlyAs needed$500 per hourAny service line, billed by the hour with no engagement wrapped around it, in 15-minute increments. Architecture reviews, second opinions, incident post-mortems, a few days of development, or anything that would cost more to scope than to do.
  • Any of the service lines

Not sure which applies

Describe the problem. We will tell you which of these it is.

Most enquiries arrive as a symptom rather than a service line. A failed questionnaire, a cloud bill nobody can explain, a deployment everyone dreads. Send the symptom.
